DescriptionI have been a long time fan of Skope's _xp series, the tag he places on existing maps that might have good game play or generally a nice layout, but lack the finishing touches to make them great maps. So I have decided to follow the same path, taking an existing loved (and no doubt hated) map and giving it a once over with a fresh brush.

Also, I do not know who the original author of this map was, but if this is someone's map and they have an issue with what I have done, by all means, please let me know and we can talk about it.

- Improved terrain for aesthetics and playability
- Redone textures for a cleaner more realistic look
- Improved texture colouring
- Map is now occluded which should make it vastly improved for lower end pc's
- Excessive rock props removed
- More tree props added for aesthetics and for game play
- Mid red stone mines moved a fraction to give commanders more working room at their forwards
- Flood points added for improved worker pathing
- Some monkits removed from the corner hills and replaced at stone mines to increase the value of forwards at mines. A couple of monkits added to each main, with an oshore taken out to make the map a tiny bit more gold friendly.
-New mini with lighter areas correctly showing higher terrain
- More sound effects added for atmosphere
- Worker issues around the wall props fixed
- Environment settings updated

Map is now in a finished state,

Just checked the map out, its much prettier :D
While playing it I found some errors.
- With the large rocks holding up the mossrock_flats(arches). I could pass straight into the model, pehaps place something there to stop people hiding in them.
- Worker Paths :P. I was happily moving my workers around the map when they got stuck on the ruin_walls. The walls are shown at red here: [URL=[LINK]
Apart from this you have done a good job patching some things up. New trees + Awsome blue flowers = Win!

You don't need so many vertices in your Occluders, every little bit of performance helps. You can probably get away with using at most 5 vertices per occluder (even though I think default 4 verts would be fine), any more is overkill.

Are all those nav points required? or are they left over from the original? I find that when you smooth out/deform the terrain properly you don't need that many nav points, especially in this situation.

Also, those passages where the village props are look dull, needs something. Especially on the inner side of each passage.

I increased the amount of nav points around the ruins_wall props because I was told the workers couldn't move past them. However in hindsight I think I realise what AngelHeart was actually saying was that they didn't automatically walk around the prop, which is different from not being able to pass them.

The vertices I have always added in order to make my occluder fit the terrain its hiding behind closely as possible. I guess I never realised/thought that the added vertices would significantly increase the load placed on the engine.

Fair call on the middle lanes, I will have a think on how I want to pad those areas out.

I believe that this map basically only needs minor tweaking to remove the bugs that map checkers should have found. :P

A couple of extra props added to the middle lanes, I didn't go crazy as I when I was viewing the passages in the editor I didn't feel they needed much, just a little boost.
Further reviewed the fog and environment settings as I wasn't happy with them.
Reduced the vertices on the occluders, found out that v right click removes a vertice as well ^^
I am happy with the map now, and consider it finalised.
