I have had a very weird problem and I have learned that some others might have the same issue so here comes the problem and fix for it. I had the problem both with SFE and XR.

The problem:

My problem was that I got random frame stutterings. The FPS was stable at 60, so no frame drop, but still could there be significant stuttering (weird, I know). Now, it was not completely random, because I could play for like 2 mins without stutterings. After the two minutes I got stutterings, but only when I looked in a certain direction. No matter where I were on the map the frame would stutter when i looked in that particular direction. After a while it went away and I could play fine again until it came back.

The solution:

The solution is simple. It turned out that the reason for the stutterings to disappear and then reappear was the sun. And that is also why I only had the stutterings in a certain direction, namely where the sun was. So disabling "Show Sun" in the options menu solved it.

The problem appeared on this machine:

Windows 7 64-bit Professional
Intel E7200
Gigabyte X38-DS5
XFX 8800GTX 768MB
8GB Corsair
1TB Samsung F3
Corsair HX620W

Hope you find it useful.

Anytime, or just when you look at the sun?

All the time, I think. It used to stutter and unstutter, depending on something. I'll turn it back on and see if I can get you any more info.
