I think since fairness has been brought up time and time again in the scrimms, that all members of the participating clans should all have to run the same, latest up to date patch available. I know some pepl use xr. some pepl still use ex2 moded to hell and back. and some pepl play fair and use sfe*. I would like to say from now on i would like to play 1 fair game so everyone is on the same playing field.

Anyone objecting to this has something to hide, or something they dont want to lose.

Three points:

  • I don't know where fairness has been brought up in the past.
  • I am interested to know how using a popular mod is unfair.
  • How far would you be willing to go with fairness? Is it fair that I have a crap computer due to monetary problems and everyone else I play against has 50 (or more) fps that me? No it isn't. But is it fair to limit those with the cash to buy decent PCs? Again, no it isn't. You can't be fair to everyone.

The existence of hacks produced with previous mods for Savage is very well established, to the point of movies on youtube. There's just no way to prove who uses them or when.

Buckley brings up a very good point as far as the NSL is concerned. If we want to maintain a certain level of integrity to competition, it would be in the best interest of the community to screen all NSL participants to using the same mod for competition. I'm looking for the NSL Admin's opinion specifically. (Pingu)

Obviously the only reason to oppose this is if you have something to hide...

Or because we don't want to change/use a different mod setup that we have today....or because we suck so bad it really doesn't matter what we use it aint gonna help.

Are you going to make sure people don't mod their setup like Enliven's and how would you police that....better yet why would you. What advantages are there to using EX2 vs SEP etc. when I thought SFE/SEP didn't allow cheats or hacks etc...?

Am I rambling...i don't care lol.

Meh, I don't care so much about fairness, (as the XR ping fixes/melee improvement are available to all via Enliven's patch) but I care more about clan courtesy, which seems to be a trait that many clans don't give a crap about.

Anyone can make a UI mod... you need the SDK to make a hack, which En doesn't have access to.

I just wish people would be respectful all the time like cutter says.
But some people still wish to cheat and laugh it up during games.
If everyone had infinite health during a pub except you, would you have fun?

lol, you make me look like a mean hacker.

Anyway, long story short: you have to use SEP to have clan tag. Therefore, CWs are always played with SFE/XR. However, there are ways to play unfair even with SEP, and that's where we need to rely on fair play spirit.

Some people still have ex2 and run a ton of cfg's to help them with the tag problem

You can't have tag with ex2.

You can see from the 2nd screenshot of the DM/VtX match that I as well all the other DM members are using sfe or xr.

Thread just got a lot funnier.
