It's to improve fps. Basically if you put one in a wall, and u stand besides it the game won't render whats on the other side.

i say the more the merrier on occluder subject ... although i have a tendancy to max out occluders ... god damn limits

if you wish to see occluders.... go into editor (i still use the old titanium)
     get the console up and type
              world savage1_fixed
this will open the map then go into console again and type the following
             gfx_fog 0
             gfx_clouds 0

then go back to editor (leave console) zoom out so you can hardly see the map and press the tab/tool button labelled occluders... you can zoom out further from map than the occluders ... basic occluders should resemble atleast the outline of the map .... so if you follow the steps above on the selected world you should be able to see the map through the occluders if you see map zoom out further (i find this better to see about missed occluders and also seeing where you can add extra)

Hey all just to let you know i am gonna be making a new mapping guide thats easierto understand soon after i finished my latest map ... gonna take a few weeks to compile it so check back in a few weeks Cheesy ... it should answer every question needed although just doing research and stuff at the moment
