I tried myself at making a map but I somehow made it all above 800 elevation.
This means, that the commanders have their view zoomed in too much, and are unable to see properly

Is there a way to reduce the entire map elevation?
Doing it by brushes messes everything up.

Alternatively, is there a possibility of a client side script to execute at launch that would simply increase max camera zoom out for commanders?

There's a way to import height maps (as greyscale pictures). Maybe there's a way to export them too? Smiley And then lower everything by changing the grey intensity in Photoshop and reimporting it.

Hi, thanks for the idea!

Unfortunately I didn't find an easy way to do this  Sad

Do you think it would be possible to increase the largest brush size?
Right now its something like 16 x 16.

How would I go about increasing that and then simply lower the entire map at once?

Edit: I have found the following two variables that in my opinion have something to do with the brush size:

le_brush "X" (Where X is probably the brush selected)
xr_brushradius "X" (Where X should be the size of the brush)

I didn't have any luck modifying the radius value, it seems to do nothing at all

Edit 2: I was easily able to change one brush's TGA to a full square, so now at least I have a completely square brush and can do a grid by grid lowering of terrain.
The brush size itself I believe is hardcoded in and I have so far not found a way to modify it...

You can try to export and reimport your heightmap.

Heightmaps can be exported using https://www.newerth.com/?id=downloads&op=displayDownload&category=6&file=SavHeightMap.zip

Heightmaps can be imported by place the file (*.png) in the Savage/graveyard directory.

In map editor open console and type:
le_terrain_mergestrength 750
merge_terrain my_image_file.png

le_terrain_mergestrength determines max height. Colors on heightmap correspond to elevation, i.e. white means high and black low elevation.

I make maps and stuff

Well to ask here, this thread looks better Tongue

Lolz -.- On my second map, i setted the ground, (where you walk, build etc) to -1000 ... How can i change that the commander can scroll to the ground ? so that he doesnt has to stop at 0 ?

Could someone pls help me ? Urgent call Cheesy Should fix it till the 15th (end of the mapping contest).

Thx guys Wink

As far as I am aware, you can't adjust the commanders zoom depth. You can however adjust the overall height of your map to allow the commander camera to zoom right in by doing the following

1. Download the .png attachment I have provided (it's just a plain white canvas 512 x 512 if you would prefer to make your own).
2. Place the height_adjuster.png into your /savage/graveyard directory.
3. Open up your map inside the editor
4. Open up console (use the tilde key "~") and type:

le_terrain_mergestrength 1000

(this value can be whatever you like, both a positive and negative number)

5. Then type:

merge_terrain height_adjuster.png

Your entire map will now be exactly 1000 units higher and therefore you commanders will now be able to zoom right in on your map.
