Hi brancio,

I suspect that at the time you tried that ftp server was down, as if I try that url in a browser the file glu-9.0.0.tar.bz2 is present.

So try the script again!

Sorry to hear your having issues installing Savage, I am also surprised that the Snap did not install under Mint - I thought it came with Snap installed??

So if you can provide the Snap terminal out whilst trying to install in the Snap forum thread I can try taking a look at whats wrong:
  * Linux Snap of Savage XR

New Flatpak Bundle version of Savage XR making it easier to install (you no longer need to run the makefile), Change log:

Version:   0.9.0
Date:      2020-06-25

Enhancements:
   * Reverted download of Savage XR installer from Flatpak install stage, so that this Flatpak can be distributed as a bundle (single file). Updated bootstrapsavagexr.sh to reflect this.
   * Remove CPU specific optimisation "-march=native" from cflags & cppflags so that Flatpak Bundle is CPU agnostic.
   * Added Flatpak Bundle of Savage XR for easy installation, file 'savagexr-i386-0.9.0.flatpak' with SHA256 checksum: 3891a96070097d6c64e4375bbc0125316e1a36c09a614fb4cdfb3b9f41d43672.
   * Added Bats-core unit tests for bootstrapsavagexr.sh.

Note:
   * The Flatpak Bundle of Savage XR can now be installed with:
      * sha256sum savagexr-i386-0.9.0.flatpak
         * Examine checksum is correct, then:
      * flatpak --user remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
      * flatpak --user install savagexr-i386-0.9.0.flatpak
      * flatpak run org.newerth.savagexr

And can be located here:

First up, massive thanks for all the work that's gone into this flatpak - I've been away for a few years because of the hassle of installing Sav on newer Linux distros, so the lure of this tempted me back.  Afro

Having said that, I've ran into a problem  Grin Everything seemed to be going well until I ran into this:

http://newerth.downloads.groentjuh.eu/ doesn't do HTTPS.

But given its importance... Well It's going to work in a few days! The cert exists!

It works perfectly, thanks once again.

The flatpak install is so much easier: great job leading the charge on this, C.I.A.

Clicking on this link and watching everything unfold is the easiest way to understand how goddamn little we know about computers.

It's simple: All I did is setup software, which contacts LetsEncrypt to get a token, then change a dozen DNS records of the domain automatically, then get a certificate from LetsEncrypt, once they agree I own the configured domain. This certificate is then sent to the actual server hosting downloads.groentjuh.eu which then automatically reconfigures the Apache webserver every 3 months.

I'm working to make it even better as most my own stuff now runs in docker containers. So soon we will have dockerized downloads.groentjuh.eu as well I guess.

All that you guys care about is: I click on download link and I get file.
