Hi!

I bumped yesterday into this screenshot by Mefix of a Heavy Transport Unit. So I looked into the SEP distribution and found this model in the folder /human/units/heavytransport/.
This unit is not available yet in the game, as far as I know, and there is no .object file associated with it in the folder SEP3/Objects/
I was wondering if someone is still working on this? I have noticed in the .object files the following fields:
    objSet canRide 0
    objSet maxRiders 10
Are these fields an afterthought by S2Game? Because I have not seen any rideable vehicles yet. The idea sounds great though   Cheesy.

This is the screenshot I am talking about:
http://www.evolvedclan.com/index.php?ind=gallery&op=foto_show&ida=40

I think that this is made to transport other units, a little bit like the jeeps in Battlefield 2. But I have not seen it in the game yet.

u sure it will be in savage 2? it's not in the unit lists.

and just cause that screen is intended for sav 2, doesnt have to mean we cant try add stuff like that in savage 1, or does it?

Stylewise etc it looks like something from Savage and not Savage 2

Also look at the date its been submitted, 15 jan 2006.......a long time ago

Edit: Talked to Dj who said its a leftover from when they made Savage, which never got implemented....would be cool tho

It was a unit that stayed in the archives from savage 1 beta, there are quite a few other things in there, like smoke granades, female nomad etc. They just left it there cause deleting it would of required atleast a new  archive or some additional coding to remove it. Consider them as easter eggs Tongue

Well It all depends on how well our plans are going:
On Jan 1st 2007, my Brother and I have started working on a new and ambitious Mod. Our starting point is SEP+Extreme Mod. The aim is to push the boundaries of the Game as it Currently stands. For example, we want to bring in Savage 2 capabilities like Rideable Objects (like Horses and the heavy transport this thread is about). How successful we will be depends on several things, not least of which is being granted access to the (secret?) SDK.
For info, we are not wannabie teenagers but both have relevant experience from years of work in our secular occupations. So we have a good feeling about our chances to succeed. This is going to be fun, not least because Savage 1 is now free which greatly increases the scope of any potential audience.
At the moment we are focusing on implementing what we can using the Script. We will setup a website shortly that will describe our objectives and make our work available as we make progress. Hopefully, this will in due time get the attention of people like Uttar who might give us access to the god-kept SDK!
