We should try moving them up to 30 on a duel server like MA and check the feedback.

As mentioned before: Savage XR and SFE clients can't deal with 30 server fps. The majority of players will start to lag.

I have patched XR, please ask server admins to update.
Here is what the patch contains:

(1) Fixed bug with NetCode Versioning.
This should solve most "invalid sv frame" problems (apart from demo recording).

(2) NEW: Interpolation of frames for Melee Attacks.
Server admin can change the number of interpolated frames with "sv_meleeInterpFrames" (default is 3).

(3) NEW: Visual aid for Melee Attacks timing.
The crosshair now changes colour when a melee (or ranged) attack is effective.
The following cvars control this new feature:
int_crosshairAttMelee: change crosshair colour for melee attacks
int_crosshairAttRange: change crosshair colour for ranged attacks
          int_crosshairAttR: crosshair colour change (red)
          int_crosshairAttG: crosshair colour change (green)
          int_crosshairAttB: crosshair colour change (blue)

Daemon, could you update the options menu to give access to these new crosshair cvars?
Everyone, please give us feedback on those changes!!

Not sure if it's connected or not, but around the time when RC3 came out I can no longer use auto-attack (i.e. press "R") when using a ballista.  I thought that this might be intentional so I didn't bring it up before.

Shouldn't be a big problem, as it is kind of a port.

Great news, I'll test out the new patch, only thing I hope is that the Leet Server admins read this and adjust the servers accordingly. I mean are they even active at all anymore?

Wow I don't know what you changed but this is the best melee has been yet. I might be speaking a bit soon but I just dueled two different people, one with 50 ping and the other with 150 and both of them went well.

Not a single swing through or miss hit, if I ever did miss it was completely my fault and bad timing, and now my blocks are connecting a bit better because of this as well. Only problem I am having now is slight leap teleporting at times, which obviously makes it a bit harder to block because it's not perfectly smooth, but either way this is a huge improvement so whatever your doing keep it goin.

Like I said though I only tested this for about 30 minutes at Leet Duels so things could change but from what I've tested already this is a lot better. One final thing, using the custom crosshairs with Rmod doesn't work with the color changes, I'm sure this is already known but I figured I may as well post about it.

the change is looking good so far mohican
for the other issue : perhaps it would be best standardize the attack speed so everyone attacks at the same speed.

UPDATE: Fixed the revive bug that crept-into the previous patch.

Do you mean the different speeds in SFE and XR? I am looking into this next.
However, it would be nice to see a video comparing 2 SFE clients, and another comparing 2 XR clients.
Maybe the problem is not between SFE and XR, but affects also same clients.
It would give me some clues as to where I should look.

I tried a simple experiment:

- Hosted a local game in SFE, spawned a scav, pressed R.
- Pressed Alt+Tab
- Hosted a local game in XR, spawned a scav, pressed R.

It looked to me like the melee timing was different in SFE and XR.
Can someone else try this, and confirm my finding?
