This is really hard to explain but I'm going to try.

Maybe once every minute or two, and lasting only for probably a second, I get this thing where I can't turn.  I move the mouse and it just kind of glitches/jitters back and forth a couple millimeters, not letting me look in any other direction.  This ordinarily wouldn't be a huge bug but if you're right in the middle of combat you can obviously understand where I'm coming from.

My graphics card is a Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 5830 and i'm running windows 7 64 bit
my cpu is i5 760 and i have 4 gigs of ram

If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate hearing them.

It's probably your ISP's DNS being lame.

Just use opendns, the IPs are in the lower right corner. http://www.opendns.com/

Try disabling WLAN AutoConfig / Wireless Zero Configuration and enabling (or installing) the wireless configuration tool made specifically for your wireless card.

Thanks for the responses.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics card driver.  I've updated my openGL to 4.0

Daemon: Thanks for the links but those people described problems which are dissimilar or in some cases completely unrelated to mine. (Animation lags and program crashing)

My problem is that every few seconds, at random intervals...sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 40+ seconds I will get a few seconds where I cannot turn.  Everything else works fine, but I am unable to look in a different direction and any attempt to do so just makes the view jitter a couple millimeters in either direction.

biggeruniverse:  I can't imagine it would have anything to do with my ISP as it was working fine for the last six years of playing savage prior to building my new computer.

Senthryl:  I don't use a wireless anything.

Again, thanks for the ideas, but nothing has worked so far...any other things anyone can think of?

Is it a mouse issue? Have you a spare mouse that you can try out to see if it is also effected in the same way?

I've had this problem since the beginning of XR too.

Solution if you want to keep using XR: Run XR as admin only for updating. Once you've updated, quit savage, and rerun Savage, but now NOT as admin.

(Personal solution: keep using SFE)

i have the same issue.. i have a sinking issue that its probably something to do with windows 7 being farther in the technological future compared to Savage XR. this dis-heartens me because i tend to die alot to a pack of beasts because of this issue. is it possible that skype could be affect it, idk but i might try that now seeing how its very late and no ones on
