46  Newerth Hosted Competitions / PuG Cup / Re: Questions on: August 29, 2016, 12:11:22 pm
We plan 4 teams, 5 when the amount of players is enough.
Per team ~15-18 players is the aim.

Correct.
49  Newerth Hosted Competitions / PuG Cup / Re: Rules on: August 26, 2016, 01:49:52 am
@Gridfon: I check this part and try to add it to the rules.

@Trigardon: What is your concern? Do you disagree how the maps were chosen or don't you like the wording? One single emoji does not help.

If somebody should have any questions concerning the PuG CUP, post them here.
53  Newerth Hosted Competitions / PuG Cup / Rules on: August 25, 2016, 09:25:27 pm
General
->Telvek and Jegenrapo will be the two in charge of the PuG Cup.
->Anything related will be adressed to them.

->This PuG Cup will follow NSL 7 rulings along with some additional specific rules below:

Players - sign up into a pool.
->Signups last till the 22th of September

Team sizes are planned to be 15-16 each.
->Aiming for at least 4 teams (more is welcome if we have the necessary players).
->Commanders will pick their team members, each commander chooses one player until the player pool is empty
If you do not like who you were matched together with, say so right away and player swapping may be an option
(if reasonable). Player swapping TO play with someone specific is forbidden, however.
->The commanders are automatically the team leaders, they have to create a PuG clan for their team.

NSL 7 rules will be used for this PuG Cup.
->Punishments for breaking the rules will be directly proportional to how much they affected the match.
Case 1: If a player performed an illegal exploit that influenced the outcome of a round, that player's team will lose
the round regardless of the actual registered result. The only exception is for when the exploiter's team notices it,
kicks the player and calls a vote for the round to be replayed AND the other team agrees.
In such a case and henceforth, the exploiter is not allowed to compete any longer.

Case 2: If an exploit does absolutely nothing to the match, the player is banned and the team itself is unpunished.

Maps - the PuG CUP organizers have choosen fair, equal maps
->The maps are fair for both races and show decent statistics.

Camping - at spawn points with siege units is illegal
->It's understood that the siege unit is not attacking and waiting for someone to come close to kill them.
->Excessively spawning as the behemoth unit, solely for defensive purposes, will be considered camping
->This rule does not apply at the end of a game when going siege is practically the last way to defend

Disputes will be taken care of by Groentjuh accordingly by the rules.
->If such a case occurs, post inside the dispute section with the claim and sufficient evidence (demorecord preferred).
If you do not have any evidence, don't bother posting in the first place. Threads purposely designed to instigate a flame
war will be removed and the claim ignored.

Inactivity - if a player leaves the competition or does not play for 2 matches in a row
(him showing up but leaving because there's too many players does NOT count), he may be replaced (if possible)
->For this rule to take effect; the team's leader has to contact me personally and bring forth evidence. (screenshot/demo/something similar)

Tournament - group stage style. Commander's pick their team.
->Double Round Robin, so two times everybody against everybody.

    ->Victory 2-0 -> 3 points.         Victory 1-0 -> 2 points         Draw -> each team 1 point

->If two teams should have the same amount of points, tiebreaker will decide the winner.
->If three or more should have the same amount, all those teams will fight in a single round robin, until the winner is clear.

Matches - like NSL 7, as many teams as possible play only one match per week.
->Both clans have 10 minutes before each rounds for preparation and break time. While there will be no punishment
for accidentally going over it by a few minutes, it may very well cause a forfeit if you delay the match
unnecessarily longer (e.g., another 10 minutes on purpose).

Backups - The ones that missed to sign up, can still play as backup/replacement.
->As mentioned in the inactivity part, you need an evidence to show the inactivity of player/players.
->The team with the most inactive players is favored, backup/replacement-players will be part of this team first.
->If two or more teams should have the same amount of inactive players, the backup/replacement-player may decide.
->The main organizer (Telvek) must be contacted before the replacement.

Gameplay - Only Players that signed up as comm or comm/field are allowed to command during the matches.
-> The only exception is when a team shows up only with field players. In this case, a field player may command.
-> Only comm-participants are not allowed to play on field, of course.
-> Only members of the official PuG CUP-Clans are allowed to compete.
-> Every Player of the Match has to wear his PuG CUP-tag.

Exploiting - in this manner is defined as attempting by any means to reach areas that were clearly designed to be inaccessible (e.g. map walls, unclimbable mountains, places blocked out of the map's play area by props). Similarly, attempting to bypass an obstacle that is clearly designed to limit a players access to another area of the map (e.g. grimms wall) is also considered an exploit.

->Players who unintentionally end up in a situation that breaks the above rules (e.g. through damage blow-back) must return as
directly as possible to their previous location or suicide, otherwise this is also considered an exploit.

->"Shimmying" (walking forward and repeatedly jumping to slowly climb upward) over buildings to get past them is allowed.
->However, it is not allowed for players to remain on top of a building to continue attacking/fighting. (1)
->Additionally, players are not allowed to place demolition charges on top of buildings. (2)

->The only exception to conditions (1) and (2) is when the roof of a building is directly accessible to both teams by the means of
taking a legal path within the map's play area that does not require "shimmying" (e.g. by dropping down from a hill that both
        teams can access)
->Placing Sensors inside of trees or other areas where they are not clearly visible is allowed.

Any suggestions, complaints, issues, wishes, dreams, desires, and so forth can be relayed to me via PMs or threads
(=you decide which choice is more reasonable).
54  Newerth Hosted Competitions / PuG Cup / Map Pool on: August 25, 2016, 09:25:23 pm
All the maps are unknown for competitive savage, fair for both races and show an average time of 20-30 minutes.

Round 1:

Week 1:                       Week 2:                       Week 3:
brokenfront2              nomadic                       rockface3

Round 2:

Week 1:                       Week 2:                       Week 3:
xr_niwa                       xr_elia                         xr_heroes

These six maps are made for four PuG teams. In the unlikely case that five teams arise, maps are going to be added.

Anyone wishing to participate in the PuG Cup will post here with his/her to-be-used nickname/nicknames.

Everyone will sign up for THEMSELVES. (exceptions are possible with a given reason, please contact the main organizer)
Please add the role you would like to fill: field / commander / field or commander

58  Newerth Hosted Competitions / PuG Cup / Re: 2nd PuG CUP 2016 confirmed! on: August 19, 2016, 06:04:31 pm
Nice, Seghi I hope we will be in one team once again :3 Anyway, what's the point of the 2nd organizator? What is he doing?
and the last question: How will we doing it with servers? It seems like Groentjuth's very inactive. Smiley

A position as 2nd organizer is possible, if someboy should be interested just PM me.
Everything's fine with the CW servers, don't worry Afro
59  Newerth Hosted Competitions / PuG Cup / 2nd PuG CUP 2016 confirmed! on: August 17, 2016, 11:24:47 pm

Pulse is a ref-free zone and players know about it. Players get kicked and muted without any reason and just no one there to avoid doing so. So either wait for JmZ to change anything or avoid playing on it.
Still prefer Pulse before Groentjuh's  Afro
