Hi nana, there is another way to do what you want, without those shadow, blocker or water walls.

Create a trigger ( aabox or aapshere )
On flag0: obj_projectile
On flag1: onEnter
... rest of flags null

For script use this:
@activate
!die target

now any projectile ballista, catapult, summ, etc. when shoot in that trigger will be stopped.
And spectators can pass throught that trigger.

When I went through all the maps in the newerth database a while back, there were a ton of remakes of popular maps. I would say some were pretty good, some were outright terrible and most were just pretty much mediocre. Which one of the countless remakes should have permanently replaced the original eden, by the way?

There is no good remake for eden2 yet.

Even if it's just about changing textures, I think that's completely unneccesary. Did you really make it undeniably better, or just different? And how can you say that your version of different is the one that everyone should prefer?

There's no such thing as an obviously better version of an old map. It's your opinion, and not everyone will agree with it. Fan fiction is allowed, but you don't get to rewrite the original story. You're free to upload a map as a remake v2, and people can choose to play that version if they want to.

Yeah is just my opinion, that's why i made a poll, so people can vote Good idea if they agree or Bad idea if they will not agree.

And avenue_sep, nohope and more others should be offline because they don't follow the rules.

General requirements of maps in order to be permitted:
  • a reasonable farclip setting between 2000 and 3600 (depends on the map)
  • fog switched on and visible
  • (proper) use of occluders
  • no exploits - especially check grimms walls in game for this!
  • no other bugs in general (e.g. spawn flags you can't spawn from)
  • overhead map images are required. they have to be in the jpg image format and 512x512 pixels in size.

avenue_sep have 100.000 farclip and nohope 10.000.

That's the problem with savage, You cannot give up with old maps, if we have chance to get a better version for original map why we can't do it? why we must keep both versions, old and new? 10 years ago that map had last update... No one don't give a shit about it.. and you talk about rights..

I just try to make some old maps to have a great looking scenary..

what's the point to upload it as new v2 map??.. I will upload this in avenue_sep... and if you need old version you will have a map named old_avenue_sep..

I try to remake old maps not to create new versions for them...

you should remove 32x32 it has issues, all maps 32x32 should be offline.

The reason it kills sever population is THE SAME OLD AND HUGE MAPS and most of them looks like **, you think player know if a map is balanced or not? he just need to play good maps, the are a lot new maps but unknown by players..  so what we need is: a pool with new maps and another pool with old maps and players can decide to vote for new or old map.. or the map should come random from new maps pool or old maps pool, if there is no vote.

And about old maps, we must to decide to keep just 1 online, or two depens if there is a summer or winter version..

for example i give bunker, we have bunker, bunker_fall, xr_bunker2.. why we have 3 version of bunker online? why we don't keep just the new version xr_bunker2??

Don't know why those maps don't have stats.. they just don't record any server not just g&k or pulse.

But what i can't understand why a map admin must check a mapper? For what is mapper rank? If any player can open editor and make a map then upload on newerth..

And I don't know if is a good idea to put offline a unbalanced map Smiley "under developement - unbalanced" means offline or out of map pool?

Server part:
2. Map gets automatically included on the official server on groentjuh's/pulse

Agreed, Pulse and groentjuh are the most played servers, they should get linked.. i mean if someone put a map offline on groentjuh this should be automatically offline on pulse.

3. after beeing played 20 times, and if balance is below 40 % for any of the races (draws are excluded), the map gets removed from the server/map pool. This script could be run at some interval, like, once a day or something.

Few maps are balanced, and few maps do not have stats, how that script will recognize maps without stats?

1. Mapper submits map, gets approved by map-admin  for beeing OK, and gets status "alfa" or whatever you want to call it.

tell me, last time when a map admin took care about a map? why mappers can't get "afla" status??

Map pool should contain all maps. And old maps should get re make or offline.

edit: ophelia and jeraziah are leaders, those herous should be just for commander:), when comm leave his post he can't chose between units, he just get those heroes. xD

Well. Lets say the ability will be like a passive, and commander mush research it. After a shaman die something show up for 5 secs and give him chance to revive but this should cost something.. like 10-25 points of strata/magnetic power or 25-50 mana, etc.

About behemoth why don't give him mana power and he can attack just when he have full mana, like when his "tree" is fully rechared. And when he spam at flag he will wait 2-3 secs until he get 100 mana..
