Great! I'll try it out on my Mint laptop one of these days...
Anyway, I'm not too fond of the description you have set. There's too much stuff written inside of brackets. I'd much prefer the one on the savagexr.com website:
Savage XR, the successor of the 2003 award winning PC game Savage: The Battle for Newerth, takes the best of the Real-time Strategy, First-person Shooter and Third-person Action genres and blends it into a cohesive, complex and addicting experience. Aim of the game is to destroy the enemy base. Savage XR is entirely free and non-profit!
Savage XR is a unique RTS/FPS hybrid game available as Freeware for Windows, Linux and Mac, that can be played either online, on LAN or offline against bots (without commander). Each match of Savage XR takes place on one of over 2000 available maps. A single match has two or more teams, which can be either human or beasts. The goal of the game is to destroy the primary enemy structure - the "Stronghold" for the human race, or the "Lair" for the beast race. Each team has one commander, who plays the game like an RTS, and additional players, who play the game like an FPS (but with a third-person mode for melee). A game can take between 2 and 45 minutes. With each new match all previous progress gets reset.
Did some more CSS on the Subreddit on my own with the help of a lot of copy pasting. I think it turned out alright. Tried to make it look more in line with the forum and website so I took some color codes from here. Check it out:
Searing light is supposed to heal on successful hits, right? Well, it work a little too well as successful hits on the ground heals you too.
Well, if the splash damage touches you, then it's a successful hit as it hit someone . If you shoot at the walls, props, ground or something where it doesn't touch you, you don't heal. As with everything, needs testing to see if it's a needed feature or not. I've put it on my list.
I see, for me it looked like I healed when I just shot the ground but I guess I was close to either a player or a building.
Looks like S2 Games is no more. Was just about to check their homepage today and noticed I couldn't reach it. Then I checked their Facebook page and I saw that it says "Permanently Closed".
There hasn't been any news anywhere about this but for me it's not really unexpected this would eventually happen. S2 Games never really got their big break and that no one seem to know of their demise is a pretty big clue where the studio failed.
I've tried to find some kind of information when this all happened but all I can find is that apparently Maliken is selling soap nowadays. Maybe someone here got a communication line with him to find out more details.
Heyoooo Piratehat! I'm be able to help out as a moderator on the Savage subreddit! I'm way too active as a lurker on Reddit anyways and it might be nice to do something actually productive out there. I have absolutely no experience with twitter or CSS, so thats about the limit to what I can do
Sure thing! I've done some easy CSS(thanks google!) on the subreddit now that will make it look a bit better than it does now. Gonna add it soonish after I checked everything is fine with the code.
Twitter ain't very hard to understand though, I can show you the ropes some time if you'd like.
I'm kind of more active around here again and thought I'd ask for some help with some of the task to keep the Savage XR social media pages more up-to-date.
First page I'd like to talk about is the Twitter page which hasn't seen much action for a while. I could just make it into a robot that spouts things from the announcements but I'd like to see a bit more personality on there. Someone who can search Twitter for mentions, respond, retweet and tweet out general happenings in the community if it's a new map or if the servers are down.
The second page is the Reddit subreddit which is nearing 500 subscribers. I need help with making the page more appealing so someone with knowledge of CSS, even if it's basic, would be great. It would also be nice if you could be a helpful person on there as a moderator and delete off-topic post as well as respond to posts so it gets some kind of activity.
Does this sound like something you'd like to contribute to? Either respond to this thread or send me a PM! Feel free to ask questions!
