For ranged weapon stats I made this spreadsheet in 2015:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iyDuOat2MBVxdcSmuGQTjjSTYMAH8TTBWBhJYINlQHQ/edit?usp=sharing

Should be mostly accurate still. But at least Incinerator was buffed since then. Nowadays it's pretty strong at killing buildings.

You probably downloaded the latest Savage XR client. It won't work with SFE server.

The old SFE client can be found here: https://www.newerth.com/?id=downloads

PS. You are better off with the latest XR server and client unless you have a reason to setup the old SFE specifically. XR server files can be found here as well: https://www.newerth.com/?id=downloads

Wtf! Nice movie dude!

How did you change demo's camera position like in the last clip? Didn't know it was possible although I'm pretty sure everything is recorded even in personal demos. Or did you have access to server demos?

You're welcome and also welcome back to Savage!  Afro

Hello,

Cool to see you around! I started Savage 5 years after you guys but heard about your early days domination  Grin

I have many old demos.  Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to play the demos now, since EX2 does not run on current versions of windows and XR does not play the old demo files.

Perhaps this:
https://www.moddb.com/games/savage/downloads/full-game-40
combined with this:
https://www.newerth.com/?id=downloads&op=displayDownload&category=10&file=EX2-5b.exe
works.

Dunno if it works on Win 10 or if you need to run on Windows XP -virtual machine.

7. There is no "jump conserve" built-in but it's not adviced anyways. Bunnyhopping downhill and bouncing after leaping let you reach places much faster.

8. If you have dual sens in use:

Code:
bind kp_1 set cl_sensitivity_range 13.750000
bind kp_2 set cl_sensitivity_range 16.500000

(kp_1 = numpad 1)

If no dual sens, use "sensitivity" instead of "cl_sensitivity_range".

Ok, Thanks SavageBeard!

I found some beginner guides.

Interface and basics explained:

Good build for beginner:

I installed this and tried the beta. Never played UO before.

Seems like there is quite a bit of learning curve (as you would expect for older games).

Even basics like attacking monsters aren't that straightforward. I took some time to figure out that you have to go in war -mode to be able to target enemies. The confusing part was that, at first, my guy counterattacked monsters in even peace -mode but at some point not anymore. Lesson learned: read some beginner guide first.

Also everything is so tiny on modern high resolution screens. For example small gold piles and daggers in inventory are like 2x1 mm in size. So you have to be very accurate with your mouse Cheesy Simply double-clicking to loot gold piles doesn't seem to work. You gotta first drag the pile, then click ok to take all X pieces and then you can put it to your backpack. Pretty bothersome.

@Savagebeard, you got any recommendations for how to setup the game nicely? Which launcher/assistant, Steam or Razer is better?
I saw screenshot of Enhanced Client with much clearer UI. Can it be be used with Outlands?

Could I ask you to remove the rain? Smiley (would be less laggy for somebody)

Does anyone know if there is a command to disable rain on clients?  Rolleyes

Alternatively, how can I disable rain showing up on the map?
The only thing I know that on the client you can do commands like /rain or /snow to toggle it.
That's one way.

The other way might be editing the config-file inside your map file and set:

set Weather0Rain 0
set Weather1Rain 0
...
set Weather9Rain 0

(izi.cfg had those set like that. Idk if it works)

Human Tutorial

Does not work at all, the very first building you are supposed to build does not ever appear.

Same issue on Windows 10.

Hello kllik,

I tried similar thing back then: http://www.newerth.com/smf/index.php/topic,7080.msg203103.html#msg203103

Only difference was that I used onInside (instead of onEnter)... and that resulted into a never ending explosion loop Cheesy

I'll try with onEnter next
