1  Savage XR / Support Forum / Re: Mouse Problem =[ on: August 10, 2012, 09:17:12 pm
Bumping this - I had the exact same problem on XR 1.0 testing.

System:
- Windows 7 64 bit
- i5 2500k
- 560 ti
- Logitech MX518

Only happened when I turned off vsync, when I stuck it back on there have been no more mouse freezes.

does that mean we should include all those hax into the normal game

If it's seen as a hack why has it been in the game for 5 years? (http://www.newerth.com/smf/index.php/topic,519.45.htmll).

I don't see it as comparable to seeing misted preds and/or auto reloc/heal when hp < X.

does that mean we should include all those hax into the normal game so that nobody has an unfair advantage over the other people that don't know how to hax?

Nope just remove the ability to do it, since you're obviously aware they exist and how they work.

@Nanaa, those are edge cases, stuff like number of meds should be on the UI anyway (might be already, can't check atm, can remember some UI mod having it, RMod?), when is the average player (80% of games population) going to bait hits by holding meds out, you can do exactly the same with a weapon too.

----

I understand why you took it out, because someone without it is gimped which makes it unfair, but I think it should be the default behavior and/or configurable via options, instead of being some sketchy shit you paste into the console / remove it.

Why is 1 button use of items disabled in 1.0, what's the reasoning?

It's unintuitive as fuck to have to press 2 buttons to perform 1 action, why would I want to hold the medkit, it serves 0 purpose - see: LoL/DotA2 smart cast (1 input = 1 action), WoW (1 input = 1 action, imagine you have to press the hotkey then activate it), Diablo III (pots = 1 input / 1 action).

I found out the 1 input = 1 action binds from Savage Girls years ago, if you think it's abuse / unfair, why even have the option to do it in the client?

Beasts I couldn't give a shit about since using items fast or slow doesn't really make a difference, but for humans I'd say it's a bit of a nerf.

I'm 70% sure it's RMOD causing the texture bug, which I'm aware isn't condoned / supported, but the crashes happened on vanilla savage install as well.
5  Savage XR / Support Forum / Random crashes on: May 22, 2011, 04:29:34 pm
My game keeps crashing randomly, and overtime the textures are becoming 'corrupt', i.e. Since I re-installed a week ago, the stalker textures are completely screwed, and display squares around the shoulders, some map textures look funny, oschores had flat squares showing as they run. These defects didn't show until a few days after the re-install.

The crashes usually happen in the lobby, just as I join a game, savage will crash, I can't repeat this reliably though.

I'm using Windows XP, graphics card is a 9800GT.

Attached the crash report, this crash happened after I reconnected cause of objects not showing on the map:

Heres a SS of what the texture looks like, only fix is re-install: http://min.us/lc6JXu

Or, instead of all that mess, play on EvO server, which have almost all the maps, and hopefully will have all the new ones soon, and when ever coming across a horrible/bugged maps, report them to be removed ?

Where can we report the stupid 3/4 team maps that become impossible for human team to win with existing server rules?

I certainly think camping is retarded. Earlier when a comm knew they would lose, instructed the whole team to: "behe spawn", and did so themselves (they lost), it just draws out the games longer than they need to be, and just wastes time.

I would love to see his stats reset, since I assume that's why he's using it (what is the fun otherwise) and suggest add him to the black list (insta kick)  Smiley

Yea I know it's not _that_ hard if you try, but in the 2nd demo he seems to snap aim to each target, in some cases even hitting invis players from huge range, just seems a bit odd that's all.
