Title: INFO: Welcome to the Developers Blog!

In an attempt to open up the development process of XR, the Savage 1 enhancement mod and website development we have created this blog!

Expect to see updates on our progress from a more technical point of view, where you can contribute your ideas to staff, on everything aspect of the work we do for community.

Dont worry, yesterday i sent a major release to Inifineon in Germany and today they reported the software wasnt working (aka I have got no idea what I'm doing).

Shhh. Tis very pretty. Just a little small and grey. But that was only a pre-beta model. Just need to get it re-sized and it's ready. So shhh. I'll try and upload it this afternoon.

How about adding a 'cooking' ability to disrupters, so perhaps they'll be used for more than just killing flame spires?

i normally carry disruptors and use them on the field like a secondary weapon ... they are very useful in situations if you can use them right

Right. Due to amazing problems we're having with the Max model importer, I'm begging for anyone that knows Max OR Maya script. I've spent the day working with Jaguar trying to get a model ingame, and we're getting nowhere. The problem is that max 4 has so few features of the newer modellers that data is getting lost in transit. Our current workflow involves three versions of max, aswell as occasional Maya. Each conversion loses data or changes it, resulting in more and more time needed. So I'm putting out a desperate plea for anyone to help


(edit:admin) I will assume that's what you meant Eclipse hope it helps find you someone to help you two mooks!

mp4 is a file format developed by apple (succeeding the .mov format) and thus a competitor of microsoft and its wmv format -> windows media player won't play that format unless you get a special codec. either get apple quicktime, quicktime alternative or sth like a vlc player.

And now, the image format that should not fail! All hail the .PNG!

This is the basis for the current shock tower. But I don't like it. The shock tower doesn't look gadgety enough for me. I'll be doing some concept sketches when I'm bored and I'll post them up and see which one people like, if any.

Why not have the center tip be an electrified ball and the spikes have lightning going to them and the rings have an electric current around them ?

Other than the rings thing (they're made of wood....) that's not a bad idea at all. But it's mainly a job for a texture artist, and as of yet we don't have one of those (that I'm aware of). I'll have a play around with that. Any ideas on how to make it die? Don't want it the same as the shield tower.

i was told my work isnt good enough and XR are sticking to ORIGINAL textures for buildings as they are unable to produce new textures of the same standard for ALL the new models


Any ideas on how to make it die? Don't want it the same as the shield tower

i would say to make it fall and break but that would'nt work

The uberness of Maya has come to the rescue. As some people know, I've been stuck in a shitty house for 2 months. I've now moved and am starting to catch up. Unfortunately, I now have a mountain of coursework, but when that's done (anyone who knows action script, CONTACT ME!) I'll be back working on XR properly. But for now, you'll have to be content with the fact that the elec tower is ready to go, as is the normal tower. The chem tower is probably going to be just a remake, unless anyone comes up with some cool ideas...

Forget render effects and lighting effects, that doesn't make it better. If your gonna show us, show us what it would look like in savage1 ;)
