Title: Weekly Sunday evening PUG
Post by: Remsuu on September 15, 2017, 12:45:53 pm
(http://i65.tinypic.com/2qi1std.png)

Tired of boring games which end in 15 minutes?Want to feel the adrenaline that Savage used to offer years ago?Want to play against old veterans?
Here's the offer: lets bring back those old days and the nostalgia! I (Sir Ikaros) am organizing every Sunday PUG matches, which will offer old school maps with our old players and of course new players who would like to play! Everyone who feels like they got time to play and want to take part of this awesome madness, feel free to register!(Little notice: You don't have to play every weekend, since this is for fun, then those weekends where You got time!)

Details:
# Every Sunday (update: 19.00 GMT)
# More players = more FUN!
# 1 Server
# 2-4 teams (depends on map)
# Can use whatever clan tag you want
# 2-4 matches per week (if possible, then even more)

Timezone is decided through GMT +0 (Greenwich Mean Time) system. For calculator, visit this link(NOTICE: This website redirects You away from Newerth.com) : Here (http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com)
Players will be chosen by commanders one-by-one, and every weekend we'll give new commander a chance to try, this might actually give us new strategies which to try on later-on. (of course if they want)
Add on: if there's a chance of stack (which will be decided after one game) then teams will be made again.

How to register?
Okay here's the deal: you don't have to register up in newerth nor at discord. Either PM me or write in the document below
Register up here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pRATWH6eZWgQU0kJlVCLCgaBMdypt14ehDF2S7P8UYk/edit?usp=sharing
Discord usage during matches are decided by team commander.

Example:
Quote from: Sir Ikaros
Hey guys! I would like to play! My in-game name is Sir Ikaros and I would be Commander AND field player,
depends, which ever is needed more!

Rules
Rules can be found here: Here (http://www.newerth.com/smf/index.php/topic,11344.0.html)
Redirects to Trigardon's post, which are Groentjuh server rules!(Thanks Trig!)
A little notice tho: those who aren't registered to PUG match, CAN NOT TAKE PART OF IT! This means players who know the password, are NOT allowed to share the password with those who aren't registered to PUG.

Things needed to take part:
 a) Discord (https://discordapp.com) ( 50% )
b) Savage XR (http://www.savagexr.com) ( 100% )

If You have both of these, join us on our Discord HERE! (https://discord.gg/hfMmcGB)
Discord is an application like Teamspeak, but requires less CP and is easier to use. Click on the link if You would like to join!
Information about maps etc will all only be in discord so be sure to check it!

For those who like to break rules, here's the system what happens if You break a rule [even if it wasn't intentional]
Sharing password with "strangers": Removal from match, eventually banning from the event.
Breaking server rules (Of course it depends on the offense):
1) First it's just a warning
2) If player ignores the warning, then it's kick from the server, which means player can't take part of that weekend's match
3) If player still keeps it going, then it's removal from PUG, which means player can't take part of PUG matches anymore
If player receives only a warning, then the warning resets next weekend!

Any more questions? Feel free to ask either in-game or under this post / in discord!
Opinions&feedback&criticism is more than appreciated!
If possible, call Your old friends to play too!

Hope to see You there!

Best Regards,
Sir Ikaros/Remi

Are you intending for this to be a competition? Since you posted it in a Competition section.
Or are you intending it to be a for-fun weekly date (which it sounds like)? Then this doesn't belong here and Trigardon will gladly move it for you.
Let us know!

Otherwise, this sounds like a fine idea, get some scheduled PuGs back in to keep the community's available variety fresh.

Sorry if this is in wrong place, couldn't find correct spot for it.
But this is for-fun yes, I would be glad if this would be moved to it's correct category!

Alright, Trigardon will move it to General.

Next up, do you need (or want) any Newerth cooperation?
Then, have you discussed this with one of the three Server Admins to make a server available?

Already talked with Groentjuh about server. Gro said that server can be provided (had a long email with him)
Front page advertisement for 2-3 weeks if that's possible, few hosting tips for such events would be useful too
since i have never host an event in Savage xd

Not using teamspeak, discord instead.
But i'll think about it, info sharing is only through discord though

About discord:
I need people, who want to take part of PUG, join our discord server (for the player count) and server details, votes etc.
During match if it's not possible to use discord - then you don't have to use it.
Hope you can co-op with it.

Notice 2: putting up list soon of participants and possible first week map rotation (with votes for players to decide what 2 maps we play first week)

Best regards,
Remi

Giving everyone a chance, all have the same rights. If he doesn't let ohters play, it's ban from event for him too...

Change of plans. Said that around 20.00 GMT... we didn't have enough players by then, also did few rule changes in PUG.
Matches will start this Sunday 19.00 GMT. And this time for sure!
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Question:

What's the difference between a normal pub match and a pug match? I stayed on the public server last night because there were more people. I saw no reason enduring a long lasting map finding and team picking process when there were good matches already going on on the public server.

Less stacked teams - should say everything.
