A masterfull compilation!
Now it would be nice if we could only get people to help with transferring most of this data onto the Wiki...
P.S: I added the link for maps waiting approval.

Don't use the autoupdater (savage.exe) if you plan to run as a service it won't work and will open endless servers. Use silverback.exe instead.

Speaking of housework, did a little tidying up here as well. All those Hyperlinks where taking up some considerable space. Hope you like the new coat of paint.

Greatly appreciated, sir.  I figured the separate link was easier for people to see.  Not that I doubt the computer-savvyness of some people who wander through here.....   but I do.   Grin

This looks good.

Are you volunteering?

I spent days/weeks writing up a 50 page comprehensive guide a couple of years ago; like everything in this world; nothing 'stays' relevant. So while there is probably still loads of useful information in the guide. It is by no means comprehensive; hence why the compilations is the next best alternative.

Aneurysm

You never answer my calls anymore...

As for a comprehensive mapping tutorial - lets just say something is in the works, however perhaps you can help with some of the failings so far and provide more literary abstract, or even add to the technical database that the Wiki fails to provide.

[EDIT]
Cant seem to get a map online - so for the moment a map comprehensive tutorial seems kinda pointless (ya think?)

Here's a short video tutorial I did on texturing, If you like it I'll make some more, just let me know what aspect of mapping you want me to touch on.  Smiley

The second video is longer and demonstrates the same methods I used in the first. You'll see how to use six textures on three layers in an are the size of a base.

just wanted to add that when you are using the textures you can switch between layers by pressing on you keyboard- 7 for layer 1, 8 for layer 2, and 9 for layer three. I believe this is the new and correct way you are supposed to select which layer you are working on.

Very nice salty_dog! I've tried to get into the editor but had a hard time getting good layout, maybe another video could be about making terrain or something?
