Convert S2G texture files to a wide variety of formats, and back again:

You can drag a file onto the app to open it as well.

It uses a library which contains various image formats and converts the s2g into them with Visual Basic.

I can't really think of what it does in more detail atm, was ages ago when I looked at the code (which is a mess Notausgang! :p). Notausgang will have to answer this one for you.

Why do you want to know?

I was curious since I tried to make one a while ago and failed spectacularly Wink. But then again, I never was much good at this kind of thing.

Well, it "knows" the S2G file format and uses the "squish" library, which somehow lost its neat web page and got ripped into pieces of web 2.0 (google code presence, some blog entry), for de- and compressing pretty efficiently and with high quality.

Note that S2G is a lossy format (like JPEG) and converting back and forth is NOT a good idea (in fact, never ever convert a S2G back unless you've actually lost the original files).

This is not a bug.
Graphic Cards are only able to load Textures that have dyadic length (Power of 2, ie: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 129, 256, 512, 1024...).
The Converter will automatically resize Textures if they do not follow that rule.

That's not a texture, it's an ingame graphic (much like main menu background).

It's still a texture for a in-game Graphic User Interface element...
