[edit] Karma System

Most information was taken from this thread.[1]

[edit] Awarded Points

You get 1 KP(Karma Point) per x hours of online gaming (not official). Say if you play with a really awesome person that helps the new guys learn YOU can chose to spend a KP on them to increase their Karma Score. On the flip side, imagine you have a 5 Karma Score (positive is ALWAYS good) and you have a few spendable points. You play with a real jerk of a player and want others to know how much of a jerk he is. You can use one of your spendable points to remove 1 point from his Karma score. This, however, will result in your score going down by 1/2 point (so now 4.5).

[edit] Influence of Karma

Karma does NOT affect your ability to play the game whatsoever. It does not handicap or boost a player in anyway. Karma will be very detrimental against your ability to gain commander positions or be appointed an officer. Karma will probably also affect your ability to be recruited by clans. So don't be a Fag and have negative points cause you will be a ClanLess NOOB. Karma might affect your ability to join servers as server admin filters can dissalow access to the server.

[edit] Hints On Mechanics

Maybe you can only take 1 KP away per player per x period of time. (S2Maliken)

Big Brother knows all guys. If we have to take the time to investigate someone abusing our system instead of working on the next update, you can bet we are going to lay down the law. Your abuses collectively punish the entire community.(S2KingKtulu)

[edit] Administration

All KP spent is logged in your account and also in the persons account that you spend it on. Thus if your being a fag and removing points just cause you can on one particular person You will probably get an email from S2Malkein asking why you have been removign points from one particular person

[edit] Summary

The purpose of the Karma system is to make players accountable for their actions. When people are accountable for their actions it generally will alter their behavior. In this case, overall, the community will act with more respect and friendliness. A friendly base of players makes it more conducive to increasing the playing population (which is a very high priority).

This is by NO MEANS a popularity contest!
