These weapons can be/need to be charged up. Hold the mouse button to charge them. Most of them do more damage when fully charged. Experiment a bit with them to see the difference between not charged and fully charged. Note that dont have to fully charge them, you can charge them a bit too. Certain items can be charged up too, the items mostly get throw further if u charge them up. They can also explode in your hand, so watch out.
