The Dark Lady
Difficulty: Medium~Hard
Wielding twin, scythe-like blades, the she-reaper known
as the Dark Lady has moved through the Legionís ranks
like a shadow of death.  For soldiers seeking to buck up
their courage, she is a punch-line: ďCareful you donít find
the Dark Lady,Ē they joke to their carousing friend.  But even
these jokes are accompanied by a shudder.  Swift and cold and
lethal as the frozen winds off the steps, black as the
cloud-choked night, she is no laughing matter.

6. Choosing a build (#6)
7. Concluding Words (#7)

This guide was made by InstantRamen

1. Stats (#1)

Attack Type=Melee
Attack Damage=46-48
Attack Range=100

Movementspeed=305
Turnrate=320
Armor=4.22
MagicArmor=5.5

Strength=18
Agility=23
Intelligence=13

Strength per level=2.0
Agility per level=3.1
Intelligence per level=1.75

2.Introduction: (#2)
First off, I would like to say, that DarkLady is a really really under-estimated hero..
People seem to disregard the fact that DarkLady; without any items to support her, has 2 disabling spells(also good damage), 1 escape/chase mechanism, as well as 1 global ulti that's good for escaping and/or ganking.
It doesn't sound like much? No-no, that's like GODLY.
DarkLady has the potential of being a great dps carry, support and/or a disabler.
With a proper build, decent HoN/Dota skill and some common sense, you can pwn in any game with this hero.

3. Pros/Cons(#3)
Personally I've experimented with this hero quite a few times but I cannot state the exact pros and cons, but here's what I think of DarkLady.

Pros:
  • Has a good nuke that does good damage and also disables
  • Has a chase/escape mechanism
  • Has a great ulti for ganking and escaping
  • Has 2 DISABLES! (PWOAH WTFACK MANG IMBA SHET NERF HER)
  • Good Support hero
  • Good ganking hero
  • Great late game abilities
  • She's like a ninja ( evil)

Cons:
  • Fragile
  • Low starting damage
  • Quite item dependent
  • High relative mana consumption

4. Spells (#4)

Dark Blades

The Dark Lady activates the malicious energy
in her Wrath Blades, causing her attacks to silence
foes, preventing them from using spells and abilities.
The malicious energy in her blades also increase her
base damage temporarily.
Level 1 :  +70% Damage, attacks silence target for 2.5 seconds
Level 2 : +90% Damage, attacks silence target for 2.5 seconds
Level 3 : +120% Damage, attacks silence target for 2.5 seconds
Level 4 : +130% Damage, attacks silence target for 2.5 seconds
Mana cost 75/85/95/105
Cooldown 25 seconds

Taint Soul

The Dark Lady forces her influence onto an
enemy unitís soul, tainting it. The target enemy
is weakened, taking damage and reduced
movement speed for a brief duration.
Level 1 : Deals 75 damage, and applies Tainted soul to target for 2 seconds
Level 2 : Deals 125 damage, and applies Tainted soul to target for 3 seconds
Level 3 : Deals 175 damage, and applies Tainted soul to target for 4 seconds
Level 4 : Deals 225 damage, and applies Tainted soul to target for 5 seconds
Mana cost 90/110/130/150
Cooldown 12 seconds
Tainted soul effects
Reduces movement speed by 60%,
gradualy returning to normal over 2/3/4/5 seconds

Charging Strikes

The Dark Lady launches herself toward a target
location at incredible speed, attacking enemies
as she passes by them.
Level 1 : Range 600 , deals 35% less damage to each consecutive target
Level 2 : Range 700, deals 35% less damage to each consecutive target
Level 3 : Range 800, deals 35% less damage to each consecutive target
Level 4 : Range 900, deals 35% less damage to each consecutive target
Mana cost 100/85/75/55
Cooldown 21/17/13/9 seconds

Ultimate

Cover of  Darkness

Using the depths of her Dark Powers, The Dark Lady poisons
the minds of all enemy heroes on the map for a short while.
For the duration, enemy heroes move slightly slower, lose all
allied vision and have a reduced sight range.
Level 1 :  Applies global darkness to enemies for 6 seconds
Level 2 : Applies global darkness to enemies for 9 seconds
Level 3 :  Applies global darkness to enemies for 12 seconds
Mana Cost 50/150/250
Cooldown 150 seconds
Darkness effects
5% movement slow
Shrinks vision radius to 500
Unlinks shared vision with allie

5.Skill Builds and Item Builds (#5)
As I've mentioned before, The Dark Lady offers you many different choices of paths to follow.
a. Assassination build aka ninja mode (oooh yeah)
b. Dsp Carry build
c. Disabler/ganker/assist build

So here I'll start with  (#5a)
a. Assassination build aka ninja mode first

Skill Build
lv.1 Tainted Soul
lv.2 Charging Strikes
lv.3 Dark Blades
lv.4~5 Tainted soul, Dark Blades alternatively
lv.6 Cover of Darkness
Tainted Soul and Dark Blades alternatively
lv.11 Cover of Darkness
Lv.12 on wards : Charging strike or stats.
and max ultimate asap of course.

Skill Build Explaination
Well yeah, this build is aimed for Dark Lady to turn into a scary killing spree lady.
The main aim is to max your two damage and disabling skills asap.
You should be using this build if you find yourself vsing a lot of late game carries that love to neut.
Why only 1 lvl Charging Strike?
Charging strike doesn't offer that much damage when used, and its mana consumption is relatively high for Dark Lady.
Its only use is to be used as a gank initiator (not recommended), escape mechanism and chase-down-kill-pwnage-thingo Smiley.

Item build for ninja skill build
First you need to up your farming ability a bit.
Abyssal's Skull

Why not other life steal items?
-Since DarkLady's skills has quite high mana consumption, Abyssal's Skull gives her some mana regen, and for her fragility, some armor.

You're a ninja, so STEALTH MODE FTW!
Assasin's Shroud

This can be used as a escape mechanism, also offers Dark Lady pretty decent damage

Enhanced Marchers/Steam Boots(Agi)

Enchanced Marchers for chasing and running away, Steam Boots for minor damage bonus and attack speed.

Assassination Mode
Codex(lv1 or max)

BZZZZZZZZ!

Why this item?
-Assassinate? oh and also mana boost.

As we close up to late game Codex will start to lose its effect
so we farm for dps items

Nullfire Blade/ Hack n Slash

Nullfire Blade becomes your major damage booster and your third disabling option.
Hack n Slash is also an option for chasing and passive slow + attack speed boost
But personally I'd choose Nullfire Blade over Hack n Slash for that bit of mana booster and purge is extremely useful for a fragile hero like Dark Lady. (Even more useful while vsing Hammerstorm, after he casts his ulti, purge him, it cancels out his ulti effect = rapage)

Fourth Disable and HUGE mana regen + attack speed
Hellflower

Gives you silence, attack speed, and huge mana regen

By this time the game would've ended already.
If not, go for

Geometer's Bane

After using the charges of Nullfire Blade of course.

Final over view of items
Abyssal Skull
Assassin's Shroud
Enhanced Marchers/Steam Boots
Codex(lv1 or maxed)
Nullfire Blade->Geometer's Bane/Hack n Slash
Hellflower

Second (#5b)
b.Dsp Carry build

Skill Build
lv.1 Tainted Soul
lv.2 Charging Strikes
lv.3 Dark Blades
lv.4~5 Tainted soul, Stats alternatively
lv.6 Cover of Darkness
Tainted Soul and Stats alternatively
lv.11 Cover of Darkness
Lv.12 on wards : max Dark Blades first, then Charging Strike
and max ultimate asap of course.

Skill Build Explaination
This build is aimed for being a carry, so early game farming is very important
The early game stats gives you a decent stats boost for survivability as well as a bit of damage.
Why only 1 lvl Dark Blades?
You're aiming for late game carry, early game disabling isn't that much of an necessity for you. Also, Lv1 or Lv4 Dark Blades silence has the same duration, so leaving it at Lv1 would be sufficient.

Item build for Dps carry build
First you need to up your farming ability a bit.
Abyssal's Skull

Why not other life steal items?
-Since DarkLady's skills has quite high mana consumption, Abyssal's Skull gives her some mana regen, and for her fragility, some armor.

Assasin's Shroud

This can be used as a escape mechanism, also offers Dark Lady pretty decent damage
or you could skip this item.

Enhanced Marchers/Steam Boots(Str)

Enchanced Marchers for chasing and running away, Steam Boots for bonus hp bonus and attack speed.

Wingbow/Savage Mace

Final over view of items
Abyssal Skull
Assassin's Shroud(or skip)
Enhanced Marchers/Steam Boots
Nullfire Blade->Geometer's Bane/Hack n Slash
Hellflower
Wingbow/Savage Mace

Third (#5c)
c.Disabler/ganker/assist build

I have yet to try out this build, but I just came up with this build for fun.

Skill Build
lv.1 Tainted Soul
lv.2 Charging Strikes
lv.3 Dark Blades
lv.4~5 Tainted soul, Dark Blades alternatively
lv.6 Cover of Darkness
Tainted Soul and DarkBlades alternatively
lv.11 Cover of Darkness
Lv.12 on wards : max Dark Blades first, then Charging Strike
and max ultimate asap of course.
NOTE:ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS PUT 1 LVL OF CHARING STRIKE FOR ESCAPING! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!

Skill Build Explaination
This build is aimed for being an assist/disabler/ganker
One of the main pros of The Dark Lady is having 2 disables, using that as our advantage, The Dark Lady can be the most useful disabling hero in history of HoN (exaggeration lol)!
This build's item build is aimed to boost your number of disables and mana regen/base mana.

Item build for Disabler/ganker/assist build

2 x Talisman of Exile

For mana boost
*You can buy Abyssal's Skull instead of Talisman of Exile if you need better farmablity.

Post Haste

Teleporting to places and helping in ganks, also running away.

Hellflower

Massive mp regen boost and another disable

Totem of Kuldra

Forth disable and mana boost, also a bit of agility(damage) boost

Frostfield Plate

Fifth disable? (KAKAKAKA DISABLE SPAM)

**Frostwolf's Skull**(Don't think you'll get to this)

Do you really need an explaination for this item? lols.

Final over view of items
Talisman of Exile/Abyssal Skull
Post Haste
Hellflower
Totem of Kuldra
Frostfield Plate
Frostwolf's Skull

6.Choosing a build (#6)

Q:There are so many builds! How will I know which one to use?

Here are some tips

Assasin Build:When you find yourself facing off with many low health heroes (int heroes or agi heroes)
Dps Carry Build:When your team needs someone to carry but there's no-one that's fitting for the role. Or you can use this build all the time.
Disabler/ganker/assist Build:When your team does not have enough disables.

7.Tips for playing Dark Lady (#7)

When playing the Assassin Build
As soon as you get your Assassin's Shroud, you should be running around in the forest looking for enemy heroes that are neuting. As soon as you spot one, cast your ultimate so your enemy's
teammate won't be able to help. Then initiate your kill with Dark Blades, so you can silence him.

Going into a team fight
Due to Dark Lady's fragility, you should never be using her to initiate a battle, because that'd be a sure death.
If you really have to, initiate with style Smiley; Cast Dark Blades, then use Charging Strikes, aiming for the WHOLE TEAM, apparently that'd silence all the enemies that have been hit by
your charging strike (I haven't personally tried it yet).

Concluding Words (#8)
Phew! I finished  cheesy
My eyes are super sore lololol. rolleyes
Hopefully this guide have helped you understand how to use The Dark Lady better.
This guide was generated from my personal preference and experience, I do not claim myself to a pro or what-so-ever.
Please don't criticize/flame me Smiley
