I recently installed Linux on my computer and savage runs fine except that I cant click both mouse buttons at once. I was able to do it fine when I was running it on windows

I am running Linux Mint 6 and It doesn't work in both xr and sfe.

If anyone can give me some help with this it would be appreciated.

This is not a savage bug!
It is not even a bug but a "feature"- go figure..

To stop X from delaying mouse presses and combining buttons, set up a hal policy.  (In the old days X detected 3 buttons and disabled the behaviour automatically - not so any more..)

I have this file /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-x11-input.fdi
Containing:
Code:
   <match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.mouse">
      <merge key="input.x11_driver" type="string">mouse</merge>
      <match key="/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer:system.kernel.name"
             string="Linux">
        <merge key="input.x11_driver" type="string">evdev</merge>
      </match>
      <merge key="input.x11_options.emulate3buttons" type="string">False</merge>
   </match>

After setting that up, restart X or HAL.

Great fix, stickified

There's also a smaller, instant-workaround, which worked for me at Ubuntu and Debian 6.

Just press your mousewheel (not scroll but press) in the game once.

Then it works till you restart your pc, from my experience. Since the system views "clicking two mouse buttons at once" as clicking the mousewheel, "showing" it your real mousewheel seems to help.

I hope this can help someone Smiley
