This is my little experiment to see what different compression techniques I can use to get the best video. If you have any idea on how to compress 38.2GB of video data with good quality, please let me know and I'll try it. Although maybe not on this shoutcast, because it was pretty lame in my opinion and I did a poor job (boredom + shoutcasting = nervous laughter trying to find something to say).
And if anybody is keeping track of my compression woes, the higher quality version is the result of encoding with DivX at the lowest possible video compression at that resolution (have yet to figure out how to change the resolution in VirtualDub, should Google it some day). I got a 425MB file and DivX'd it to get a 357MB file. The lower quality video is Windows Movie Maker at the lowest settings. I normally despise WMM, but I've got to try it a few times to see what it produces. A medium quality was planned, but the 150MB file that came out was just not high enough quality to warrant downloading it over the lower quality.
Higher quality (DivX)Download all four files into the same directory. Extract part 1 with
WinRar or
7-Zip. To play the video, use the
DivX video player or another player like
VLC media player.
