Since S2Games took down their master server, we had to make our own but that part is not functioning yet. Sad

The master server is working. Its list can be seen at this page. The newerth serverlist also uses this list. The clients do not yet use the new masterserver, but this will be added in a future patch.

Your server should be in that list and it should be listed on the newerth serverlist before it would work in-game!

Now clients also use that master server, so all servers will list themselves!

I set up a server for troubleshooting some mapping related stuff. Otherwise works great, It runs and I can connect to it with a client, but I can't actually figure out how to load my testing map on it. I thought that simply placing the map in the server's world folder is enough, but apparently it isn't. I can load any map the server came with by callvote world, but attempting to load my own map causes the map to be replaced by a file of the same name with size under 1kb, and it ofcourse fails to load and I get disconnected from the server. I got the map both in client's and server's world folder.

What am I doing wrong? How to fix it?

What's happening here is that the server checks mapserver for newer version of the map. When it doesn't exist, it reverts to default behaviour of deleting the map. Didn't find any way to change this behaviour.

If you would change the filename of the 1KB fiile to 404.html and open it in a browser, you will see a 404 error.

The server tries to check versus the url in svr_mapurl and fails to detect it receives a 404-error instead of a map.

2 options: fix the python code or point svr_mapurl a server with the map.

Yes, it's written in python/savage0.zip svr_maps.py if memory serves me well!

Just copy svr_maps.py into savage1.zip and fix the issue. Be careful for patches, because the may cause issues.
