I can see me getting all the hate after adding it even though Tjens promoted it and people posting agreed with it. Including Tirza who hates Savage 2!

i find it should be better used as a building available for both races. I would make it tier 2 though since it would probably hasten sac rushes. Unless no other worker/unit can mine from the auto-mined mine.

People agree with Tjens' version of a new, better-looking prop, that can replace the sawmill and can be used in those frenzy-styled maps. Making a completely new tech building breaks it totally because then it probably won't be used and then it won't be a frenzy-styled map anyway.

If it wasn't clear from my posts I absolutely disagree with a new team building that commanders can build. I was just agreeing with a new map prop with possibly different properties.

But that doesn't need any new model. Making it give a certain amount of stone/s and killing it when it's done is entirely a matter of scripting. As for aspect, any mapper could put together a semblance of an auto-miner.

The functionality can be made with scripts, but making it it's own available prop would be better. It would be standardized, it would look and feel and work the same way on any map it's used on. If maps with this prop get played, people would quickly learn what it does and how to react to it. Depending on map makers to script this functionality means it would get used a lot less, it would differ from map to map and players would have a harder time understanding what exactly it does.

Also the prop could have the same blue bar as a red stone mine to display how much stone it has left, I'm not sure if this could be done with scripts.

This prop wouldn't have to remove pmining entirely from a map, you could for example still have your standard mines at base and first expansion, and have one of these in mid area to fight over. It would just give map makers more options and players more varied gameplay. It would do what sawmill should have done but doesn't do because it's infinite.

Wasn't really liking the idea until I saw those gorgeous designs. Now they just have to be in this game ASAP.

Just Mining Da Stone the redstone-miner definetly has potential. current sawmills are just bad. on certain maps these result in endless maps. but a redstone-miner which gets destroyed once the mine is empty would be amazing!  Just Mining Da Stone

Look I'm making progress!

But seriously, I'm totally lost in this program, all I've ever known is AutoCAD! Design house with simple lines? No Problem!

Making 3D magic happen with textures and all kinds of facy buttons? Not a chance!

Anyone got any tips for me trying to get this to work?

I like the first one. To determine which team owns the machine you could colour the frame in different colours (red/green).
