Will there be standart servers without those 2 new units? They sound pretty op.
They aren't OP for the simple fact that no dmg/hp/spd value has been decided. Random numbers were used just to showcase them. And there will be servers using them, and the entire sandbox mod.

But what skills or abilities new 2 units have?

It's NOT decided yet, but we'll do that soon. What's kinda established is that they're not gonna be replacing any of the current units, in terms of specialized efficiency. They won't excel nor suck at anything. They would be filling the gap between:

- melee only and siege only units - having both ranged siege weapons and melee weapons.
- short range (proximity) building damage (sac, demo, behe) and long range siege damage (balli, cata, summ) - having about half the range of the latter, 90-100m.
- regular units (sprint, block/leap) and siege units - yet being siege units, they can sprint and block/leap like non-siege, but it won't help them a whole lot, except maybe for escaping.
- low hp siege units (balli, summ) and high hp units (behe, cata) - only they're closer to the weaker ones.
- 1-hit-1-kill units and regular units. They both should take about 3 hits to kill a pred/lego, melee or ranged.
- siege that stops when shooting and siege that can hit while moving - they both are able to attack on the move.
- units w/ special skills (medics) and units that have none - they would get 1 or 2 of those.

We are thinking about adding some special abilities. Already testing a 1 time use mag shield for the Mech - reducing damage to 50-60% for 10 seconds. For Glider, we wanna add corrosive effect to its ranged shots, effective on buildings, inflicting damage over time.

Another option would be dropping some objects when they die. The Mech would produce a fuel tank, which would explode when hit by friends or foes, and the Glider's spilled blood "pool" would be damaging to those passing through it, fire-buff style. Both expiring/exploding on their own after a while. Could make those into regular usable items too.

The Glider would be particularly better than summs/behe at coming closer to shields/hum buildings, along with preds, to hit them, as it moves fast and has high siege DPS. May take down rather fast a shielded tower, if it manages to survive this close to it.

The Mech would be good for tanking, spear-heading human pushes, shielding ballisu and demorunners by soaking up just enough damage to let friendly units do some in return. It may live long enough to take down a spire on its own.

The marked things sound pretty OP!
Also, humans pushes are already pretty strong. And only defendable with high gold costs for your own team.

Over powered implies there are over powered values. But there aren't. If it has 1 HP, 1 DMG, 1 SPD, and it costs 1000 Gold, is it overpowered? It's all a matter of numbers.

Their ranged and melee weapon is numbered already. And its op already. 3 hit kills on a t3 unit.

afaik faun was done with the XR and SR dev team? Or did I get something wrong?

When the question is which props are wanted/needed in savage I like to provide answers, dev or not. I would be a lot more motivated for future maps if its not filling countless landscapes with the same 4 trees, 3 huts and 3 rocks.
If its about standing in between the chairs simply because I want to make maps/help to improve them: No want.

Funny, we had this same discussion not so long ago.

Anyhow, I am happy to report that 5~10 people have been playing the XR Maps on my JP server every nights so far.
As I said elsewhere, xr_moss_erebus and xr_four are awesome!

You and Aneurysm should really talk in depth with Daemon (who has been real busy modelling) and myself about a strategy for better maps. Sounds like you need just a couple of extra editor functions, and some extra props to complement the existing themes.

The new ones got it the same way too. Just check the "Left side HP bar" and you're set Tongue.
