Install XR Or SFV??

Hi im new on this forum (sorry for my bad english!!!).now i have got installed the whole savage original client (version 2.00 e) i was wondering if i could install both XR and SFV "expansions" ? also if that's the case, can i play on both sorts of server ? for example i have got installed savage XR and SFV, and i'd like to play on this server Newerth.com Leet US Public which is only for XR, it is possible?

Hello.

First off, it's SFE (no V in it).

You can install both, but NOT in the same folder (for obvious code-breaking reasons).
A fine rule of thumb, is to always go for XR, unless your PC is too old and weak. If your PC can't handle XR, stick to the much older SFE version.

You can join the servers with any version, however, if you join an XR server with just SFE, you'll be missing some of the new features. XR also has better graphics/textures.

Okay thanks for your help, but the XR client is it a sort of "extension" which is installed with the original savage client? or it is the entire game remaked with better graphics and other things? cuz the XR client size is like 283 Mb and the original savage 367 MB. Do i have to uninstall the original game? Thank you in advance

You don't have to uninstall.
Just don't install it over the old one (use a different folder name).

The new one works WITHOUT the old one, like Haku said.You don't need the original one.

With the XR client you can connect to any server, including the SAMURAI and EXTREME mods.
The Graphics are better, and the player HUD (2D graphics) are much nicer.
Have fun, and don't give up if you find Savage difficult to play. It is a very rewarding game to learn.

XR sucks balls. It will lag your computer and there are so many bullshit glitches. XR is SHIT.

I am also new, and deciding which one to install.
It seems that after you install SFE you will still need to install all the patches individually?

XR seems like a much easier install process.

if u talking about XR or SFE* then:

1.Install XR to play
2.Instal SFE* to get playing into more servers
3.ENJOY!!!

just install XR and wait for SR. SFE is for people who hang on it because they know it for a long time.
Otherwise you will miss a lot of nice graphical features and other refinements with SFE, along with having some serverincompatibilities then.
Even the "old computer" argument is getting in the background more and more, since there has been done lots of work to get the fps up in XR. Remind to deactivate a lot of the graphic goodies or set settings to LOW (Shaders, Filters and Grass) with both versions to have a playable game on old systems.
