We need to breathe some life into this game.

I propose to you, the PUG Cup. Double elimination Tournament, as many teams as possible. No prize yet (i'm poor), but i can probably work something out for first place if i get enough money.

Basically, Clans can enter OR you can form a new clan specifically for the PUG Cup. Maximum 10 players on a roster, so one roster doesn't get overfilled and we can get a large amount of teams instead of 3-5 large teams.

I myself will lead the charge by harassing vortex and maybe some DM to come play. I will also do my part to get anyone who frequents the Leet US server to come and sign up for a team as well.

People who are looking for team mates can post here, and make a list of their current roster in a post. (Make-shift, I don't have cool editing powers or anything so i can't make a sub-section of the Website.)

Depending on the outcome, this could breathe some life or just prove to me further that this game is dead. What's the verdict?

Are we up for this, or not?

(PS, European players can play for a EU team AND a US team. Help us out, guys!!)

Well we're in if this goes down. Sounds good, just don't get the name if it's clans playing but any kind of cup/tournie would be nice.

And why do we need to sign-up with a list of 10 names? So those not in the list can't play? Besides how can we confirm players if there's no timetable when the tournie will be held?

IMO, You should just put more effort into NSL 4 then a 'PUG Cup'

As far as I've seen so far, the only groups/clans that have shown interest are those that have been around for sometime. With the possibility of money, you're basically creating an excuse for players/vets to play for said matches instead of trying to increase or 'breathe life' into the population of Savage.

By no means am I against the idea of an organized tournament, but calling it that isn't what a PUG is.
If people were to create PUG groups, they would get decimated against organized clans that know each other's playing styles, or will listen to each command a squad/officer/commander gives.

My belief is if you want to bring popularity or life into Savage, the winner of said tournament should be featured in Tirza's XR demo videos. She's looking for both beast and human side videos to permanently fix the demos into the XR release for new/vet players to video the extent of what Savage has to offer.

The idea would be that the winning team from EU and US send in their recorded demo's from the tournament match of their choice, and a collaged video of each player on the team is given their 15 minutes of fame, so to say. Each player on the team would be highlighted at some point in the video (which gives the video creator freedom to work with since each player would have a variety of gameplay).

People who're playing just for the money might not care about giving Savage a popularity boost.

There should no clans be participating as clans and this could actually work and be fun

Why not set this up as the PUG tournament that was run a few years back?

Once theres a pool of 50 or so willing players, all of the players are randomized into 6 or 7 separate teams, and then go from there?

That way, every team has a good chance of winning, and its not just one or two teams going undefeated and everyone else having nothing but losses?

More competitive = more fun

Would probably need to set aside people willing to be commanders though, at least in the US. As chance leaves the possibility of a group getting absolutely no one to command. Which would = zero fun.
