I know most contact lenses have expiration dates on them, but I also know that's only because of the solution that they're held in when you buy them.  If you rinse out the lenses with new solution, would they then become safe to wear? If only for a day?

well.. i also had exactly the same question.
i asked that to a friend (who is doctor).
his answer was bascily this:
it wont kill you instantly, using lenses longer than you should but over the time
you wear them (for example 1 mounth), they get tiny tiny breaks, where bacteria
will stay...
i also tryed using my lenses for 2 or 3 months... but then after some time my eyes began
to get a bit red and that was the point where I bought new ones. just try it and you will see m8 =)
I didnt want to buy new ones, because they were very expensive.. (for a pupil) but then i searched
for cheaper ones and found some.
now i pay only 1/4 of the old price. and they are also good Wink

Yeah I opened a new back of them for one day of use. I'm not planning on wearing them again because I have glasses.

...and I also hate sticking plastic things in my eyes.

My experience with contacts:

First tries to put them on my eyes:
-The eyelid would close itself as soon as my finger would get closer

After some wasted lenses (were daily):
-The eyelid would close itself as soon my finger touched the white part.

After more wasted lenses:
-I could put them on the eye, but I had to be fast. Took me too long to put em.

After some weeks: it was perfect, I can touch the white part with no problem. However, after 2 years I still use a mirror, thats maybe because I never really tried without it.
