All the awards should be ingame. It only takes 3 lines of icons and it does not clutter the info screen.

yeah but i'd love to know how many sacrifices i did to cause my 2k more deaths to my kills in my sig.



Edit:

So you mean if i log on n' view my own stats from ingame, I can see how many sacrifices i've done ?
Just woke up, what you said didn't register until 5 mins later for some reason.

*.. Levels (from stats and ranking page) give ranks...does nothing to the game but shows under the users name as they play...good for seeing who is a vet and who is the greenhorn.

*.. 1 point to spend every 2 levels (again from the stats and rankings page) for abilities (don't think we need anything like this but we could put it towards special animations or appearance instead of abilities)

With something like this you would have a larger group checking their stats and ranking and you could dare I say it ....put a few adds on the stats and rankings page to help with running costs.

I don't think the idea of achievements is a big step forward for Savage and it's not really attractive for me as a way to customize my own units. Neither I can say I completely dislike the idea.
Yeah - it might make the game more attractive for new players. It might make a difference by making a few of them to play a bit more while chasing the achievements/ranks/[..] instead of uninstalling the game as soon as they get frustrated by being unable to do anything decent.
On the other hand I don't think any of the old players will change their mind of playing or not playing Savage just because of this kind of feature.
Also I can't see a really safe way (or many options) of basing the achievements/ranks on the summary of player statistics because it will simply promote all kind of stat-whoring, etc.

Then the question really is, what would value the community more,
- having old players re-join
 - or having new people remain?

And when it boils down to it, those vets who do remain, are more then likely the ones to continue to thrive.
The vets who quit, odds are they won't be returning, no matter what special features, or add-ons that are done to Savage, at least not permanently.

I would bank on the new players, what ever would keep the interest in them alive, what would have them remain.

Though it would be fantastic to have vets return, and remain - it's not as likely going to happen compared to newbies who join, and remain.

In all honesty though, I feel whatever features are added, would appeal to both vets and new players alike.

  • -Armour customization (only visual), for each of the 3 regular units in each race. 3 customizable sections, head (helmets/masks), upper body (shoulders, chest, back, etc), and lower body (waist, thighs, shins, boots).
    -Have 3-4 different sets for each section (i.e. 3-4 different helmets to choose).
    -Have some sets be unlocked.
  • Maybe unlockable weapon skins?

The Armour stuff would require new unit models for all 6 of the combat units. Followed by modular sets of armour for each unit.
Decent amount of work, however it'll definitely pay off (especially having new, clean unit models).
At the very least we can have new unit models, which we really need.

What I would like to be implemented:

That savage Servers could send UID of players do masterserver, so we can know who is playing.
