Hi phoenix, hope you are well!  afro Thanks for your advice, dying from heartattack while playing savage shouldn't become a common manner of death!

it's possible to have maps played without admin approval, so maybe just get it onto any server to see games on it.

Happened to me aswell, most of the times when Auth was clearly down (green box icons) although some months ago, that was coming with the strongest "inertness" yet. At other times later on its more like Gus described, a smeary, slow mouse movement and flickering FPS rates. Haven't had either for the last couple of weeks.
12  Savage XR / General Savage XR Discussion / Re: R.I.P Venco! of (WW) White Wolves clan on: January 11, 2013, 05:41:25 pm
How sad can logging into the Savage forum get?
Venco was the guy that talked me into joining WW with him, he made it into WW team, while I loitered in cubs and shortly after dropped the thought of joining a clan anyway. It was big fun with him; that must be about two years now. I was happy to see him online more often recently, as its always great to see familiar players from earlier days coming back. It's really hard to hear he left forever now, damn
I'm sure his relatives will keep his memorial in good faith, I will remember him as a friendly and skilled Savage mate. undecided

Agree, IL-2 was outstanding and kept this position for a long time. Still, with the upcoming next-gen flight sims it seems that its going to be hard for IL-2's successors to hold this rank. Found another ongoing project yesterday, might be interesting for you aswell if IL-2 gives you warm memories:
 http://warthunder.com/
I find the terraining and the vegetation done much better than in Rise of Flight, where in RoF in certain points aside from the astonishing planes and nice overall graphics there isn't anything to really complain about, WT's landscapes are spine tingling and go to yet another level. We'll see where this gets, still I'm sure these projects are currently cutting edge for historical flight sims.

found a nice trailer for a one-click vid here:

it's from 2011 Wink

I will test it now, let's see if it even runs here  grin - I'll give you an update then.

Update: warthunder is more arcade-like, so if you prefer more simulation I'd recommend to stick with RoF. WT is fun tho and got good potential for a successful f2p.

Hi Folks

Another free2play game to make gold9999 proof that all of them are worthless bullshit and for me to keep smiling in the background

Rise of Flight

It's so deep I barely can find words for it. Turn and dive with canvas/wood/metal/pixel fighters at near to bicycle* speed pushing against the wind, carrying you above the treetops of dense river forests. Or mount a gunners seat in a bomber or recon plane and blast all your magazine into the enemy fighter plane when its up close. Well, wounded or spilled with oil then maybe if you weren't fast enough.

The player numbers on the servers remind me a bit of Savage  undecided and it's a game for lovers of the genre. Still its one of the greatest games I have ever seen. There is a lot of free 2 play content to add weapons, other planes and as for now another map, still the content you get for free is a big nice deal and it's really tasty.

*bicycles with machine guns
** well, sound bugs atm (...) cry - waiting for russians to patch it - newyear

For a vid take that and it's relatives, I had to watch it to get my plane off the ground on my first visit to a server.
