BTW Do the asp skin  files do anything - they link to the small unused textures... ?
[/quote]

You must have visual studio installed right? hehe

The skin file is used create variations using a single model but applying different textures on it.
What you see there is the name of the meshes in 3dmax and the texture that is applied to them.

This is a beautiful, fantasy themed game:
Ofc it is always good to have a colourful DisneyLand Theme, just not an oversaturated one. I have nothing against a coloured tree crown as long as it fits with the trunk.

Sorry for that djing. Was kinda busy yesterday and this morning and forgot to reply.

The shaded ones look really well in my opinion, however i am not sure whether the saturated ones are better choice overall. What i mean is that the saturated ones fit well in daylight(especially the yellow one) and decent in the dark while the shaded ones would do better at night.
I'd say shaded green, saturated yellow and shaded red  really fit my vision.

I assume that you tilled the trunk so you cant really shade the top where the leaves cover. You could open max and add some vertex colour to it just to mimic shading.

Al in all the choices are pretty good, no doubt they look improved. Smiley

With a bit of luck and persuasion you could convince dae to put yours instead leaving mien to replace the riverbirch (which was my original intention).

The issue is definitely complicated and not worth a debate indeed.

But the reason why mine is preferable (i think) is the balance of colour between the trunk and the foliage. I wouldn't have touched this tree if I hadnt gotten such a nice result with the trunk and this is the main reason why my foliage is toned down and washed.

Yours are too saturated imo, and could be toned to match the trunks relatively "washed" look. Or you could saturate the trunk, in this case killing the thing that really makes it stand out  undecided.

hehe, long time no see indeed Rene:D

Thanks for the feedback mate but I kinda reached my limits with this one.The crown is too huge and I cant afford to detail it with small polygons just to make it look more natural. Deamon told me to reduce the leaf size for I dont know how many times, but doing that meant pixelating it again . I really cant find any alternatives to these  undecided.

Anyway, the bottom-up view is worth a good picture, since this is what players will see most of the time.

Well having 3 wont hurt , if mappers will like it rolleyes.

Because I had a little argument with Deamon about the fulltree, here's how it originally looked like. We discussed about it several times before but never managed to reach a consensus, so i want to hear whether you want this as a third version of his kind or not (Sorry Deamon, but I still think mine's better).

In the meantime please enjoy my brown oschore over there, waving her head and hoping that i'll finish her too one day.

Cheers.

Why do they need it anyway? Sites such as megaupload can already be taken down by them!

As a matter of fact, they just did that yesterday.

No its not. It  does however contain bones and animation but the *.anim file that defines which frames to be rendered does not work.
39  Savage XR / Mapping Forum / Re: @Map makers: Request props here! on: December 01, 2011, 07:42:19 pm
In theory, yes. Although i don't know whether there's any animated prop. Unless props can be animated, i would prolly need to make it an object which i'd rather not.

Leave it for XR 2.0 imo.

I would recommend mirroring the the S shaped stockhades, just in case mappers want to make a symmetric entrance or something like that. Smiley

httpget doesn't download stuff or does it?

It does.
Though I will restrict it to downloading stuff from newerth.com only.
But we can offer to host mods for people who need it.

I think i know ppl who would need that Smiley.
42  Savage XR / General Savage XR Discussion / Re: Savage Allied Games on: January 04, 2011, 11:35:38 pm
I don't think this needs that many triggers, if any Smiley.

I think it chould be coded quite easily, imho:
1. Allied teams share vision.
2. Allied players register as "ally" for all weapons, along with items using .gs
3. Allies can travel through gates.
4. Comms can cast buffs on allies.
5. Team chat is shared by allies.

As for the maps, true... we need something like Lost Temple is for Starcraft.

dont forget about redstone trading between the teams . Wink

Ask him what kind of things he does with max. Gfx card is not all that importaint for it, but CPU and RAM is what counts.
Regardless, get him 16-24gb of ram.

This kind of irony reminds me of:
