Below is a list of changes to be aware of apart from previous seasons of the NSL.

- The NSLIII schedule has been posted on the homepage.

- The coin-toss tiebreaker code has been put on hold. As of now there will be no tiebreakers. (Unless of course the 'Clan Sovereignty' clause is invoked in which both clans may pursue whichever kind of tiebreaker they can agree on)

- Several rule changes have been implemented so it is highly recommended that all clan representatives read over the NSL rules section again. Any future changes to the rules will be posted in a live thread so everyone is kept in the loop.

- The map list has been reworked and opened to all for additions and bug reports, visit this thread to learn more!

- The Hall of Fame has been implemented so the champions of previous wars will never be forgotten.

- Upon the release of the XR serverside, it will become a requirement to all match servers participating in the NSL. The XR client will NOT be a requirement at this time. (Subject to change)

nice work,

The hall of fame is nice. What you wrote is cool  afro But to be fair i would also add up the 2nd and 3rd place.
Or atleast the a graphic like this : http://www.newerth.com/smf/index.php/topic,4662.msg72352.html#msg72352

might as well link the clanicons to the homepage or forum of the clan so, all who want to know more about the clan which won can visit the side and read about it.

2 questions:

1. Can you shoot over grimms wall or not? (I've read the rules and still don't know it exactly)

2.
Quote
- Building a gate inside a Doodad formation which prevents players from seeing or destroying it. - Illegal

Can you gate behind a grimms wall like in for example greenpeace?

Doodad: An indestructible object that is placed on any map. (Ex. rocks, small buildings, tree trunks, etc.)

Rocks specifically were very poorly modeled to the point where gates can be placed inside of them on some maps. Doing so is defined as an exploit. Foliage and brush are NOT considered doodads.

Camping is obviously not against any rule or it would be written in the documentation.

I wonder how many more things I'm going to have to interpret in this thread...

However, no players are allowed to take his place in the seat. The commander who started the game has to be the commander for the entire duration.

In some of our last scrims we had that our commander got timed out. What happens if the commander got timed out, i guess you are allowed to change the commander then, right?

Quote
Commanders are allowed to spawn at any time with any unit and weapon with the exception of all siege units.

Lets think of that: You got a sac rush sub and humans got a sneak garr. Now all humans spawn bali to rape lair faster then the beasts will sac the sh. Is the commander allowed to spawn siege for attacking. Because the beasts commander is allowed to spawn and sac with the team. That 1 player more might do a difference then.
Something like you are allowed to spawn any unit except siege for defending. If you are going to attack you are allowed to spawn all units?

Quote
Firing over "impassable" map doodads such as rocks and/or mountains. - Illegal

does that include Grimms walls too? You can pass them too so they are impassable but for example you can easly motar over them.

Last question:

You said nothing about hitting throw walls. For example there is a sub behind a wall and you hit it with your axe throw the wall. And of a behe camping behind a wall and killing all humans going that way throw the wall.

Commanders that time out can be replaced immediately by any player on the team, if the victimized player reconnects they MUST retake their commanding seat immediately.

Commanders can spawn with demolition charges - the equivalent of sacrifice, take balance issues up with the XR development team.

I just posted earlier in this thread that grimm walls DO NOT apply to ANY exploit rule, Period.

Hitting through walls has always been one of the most obvious exploits in recent years. However, it will be added to the list for those who sincerely believe that it would ever be considered legal.

I'm pleased to see after two seasons the rules are finely being read in more detail by the community. I'll be sure to add all interpretations in this thread to the rules page when we've been able to go 24 hours without someone finding a loop hole that I need to clarify.

NEXT. cool

Why can't you switch commanders? If a clan desires not to end with the same commander as they started so let them.

This has been discussed before and I have no intention of changing the rule.

The keyword is balance. Every player contributes a certain amount of that to the game. When you switch a commander who is a really good field player for a mediocre player who would be more effective just sitting in the commander seat giving out buffs halfway through the match, you've considerably changed the balance of the game. These kinds of actions must be prohibited to preserve the integrity of the match.
