The Newerth Savage League
Map List was created and is maintained by players and administrators just like YOU!
To submit a bug : Click the above link, click the link associated with the map you wish to report, click the link of the map creator, and send him/her a private message! Please be as specific as possible to ensure the most effective response to the issue. Include screenshots, demos, and/or descriptions that help the creator find your bug quickly. Map creators that submit maps to the NSL are obligated to maintain their own submissions. All bug fixes must be reported to the
NSL Administration (by the map creator) immediately so they can be uploaded and put into effect. A map that goes for an extended period of time without bugs being fixed is subject to removal from the map list.
A map bug is defined as a terrain glitch where a player can get stuck, walk directly through an object, mountain, or ground due to an occluder error. Map exploits or balance inquiries are to be messaged directly to the
NSL Administration for review. Exploits are defined in the Rules section of the NSL page. Please bear in mind not all exploits have to be fixed, they simply need to be enforced.
To submit a map : As you begin to work on your design, it is key to keep the following points in mind to ensure your map fits the standards of the Newerth Savage League.
- Beta-code your map's name with prefixes or suffixes such as a-b-c or 1-2-3. Once your map has reached a finalized version as deemed by the NSL, you will be instructed to upload it with the prefix "nsl_"
- Redstone mine limit of 4 to 6. Gold mine limit of 2. Only one redstone mine may be in close proximity to the Stronghold and Lair.
- Map design preferably to be symmetrical for balance (crossroads, losthills, whiteout3, choke_fixed etc.)
- No uphill or downhill slopes near the Stronghold/Lair (unless they can be worked into the map so as not to favour rushes or turtling)
- Base entrance minimum of 2.
- Flat area to hill ratio being relatively even, and no massive plains with no cover.
- Limited number of NPC camps that are not placed in close proximity to the Stronghold or Lair.
Once you have a beta version of your map, upload it to the
map database before you do anything else. Once you have it on Newerth, send a private message to the
NSL Administration with a link to your map for review. Not all maps may be chosen as NSL material due to imbalance or repetitive designs. So if you're unsure about your design being accepted, make the overhead first and send it in for the green light to ensure no time is wasted on your part.
