my uncle used to have it when i was younger. I didn't like it enough to download, but I remember being VERY scared when i got into the tombs / catacombs or w/e. The castle was very easy... I don't know whats past the catacombs, never played multiplayer.

Installing is made very easy nowadays. You no longer need to download separate patches nor manually update PunkBuster (ET's anticheat program). Everything is included finally in one installer. Download it here!


Things you wanna do after install:

- On first run ET will ask your basic settings. There aren't many resolution options so if you don't find your screen's native resolution, don't worry at this point. Be sure to click "Enable PunkBuster".
- If you couldn't choose your screen's native resolution earlier, open console (§) and type your custom resolution like this:

Code:

r_customwidth "1920"
r_customheight "1080"
r_mode "-1"
quit

Start game and new resolution is in use!
- Remove blood splatter in options (it just blocks your vision when you get shot). Also select dot ( . ) for crosshair and put the size to small. This will help you a lot to get headshots.


Server I use to play at:

Himalia silEnT Server
You can connect to quickly by opening console and typing "/connect www.himalia.fi"


Good to know in game:

-Loadout screen is called Limbo menu and you open it with "L". Join team by clicking Axis' or Allies' flag.
-You can't Alt+Tab ET normally but by pressing Alt+Enter you can switch between fullscreen and windowed mode. For the best solution, check ET's directory, open directory called "minimizer" and run program called "etwc". It kinda mimics Alt-tabbing

Rest is pretty much self-explanatory.

Some very nostalgic memories hehehe... tried to re-install this about 2 years ago after getting a new PC but couldn't get past the menu screen in-game because the game kept saying Punkbuster wasn't updated properly anymore so couldn't join any servers.  Looked high and low for fixes or patches and explanations to fix that but nothing worked... definitely would like to try this again -- it was fast-paced enough and team-oriented enough to satisfy me.     Some of the well-known clan servers ran custom maps too that seemed really neat and fresh!

The mortar and airstrikes in this game were beyond explosive though.  o_0
